I'm getting prepared for my first semester at SCAD which starts in January, and I started a digital coloring workshop yesterday with Ben Hunzeker, aaand still trying to get my driver's license. It's starting to get real busy for me, but it's all for the benefit of my future, so I'm not complaining. I'm always looking for ways to improve my art to give you all the best that I can provide, and I've been holding true to my word, haven't I?
Soooooo... where's the next POC D-X page? I realized I was making a mistake when I started making those pages I uploaded earlier this year, and I was close to making that same mistake with these remastered pages. I was making the comic exactly like the prose version, literally taking word-for-word and repeating actions and events that I've already done in the prose version. I want the comic version to be its own thing while still telling the story of the prose version. To make that more apparent, I've added in some new characters, including a brand new Protector of Chaos who wasn't in the prose version, and there will be some characters that appeared during the prose version's last chapters who will now be appearing right in the beginning of the comic version, and there's even a new [masked!] villain/rival who I'm EXCITED to get into the comic. Masked characters bring so much mystique because you'll have no idea who they are even when you think you do. I love a little mystery in my stories.
Now that I've made all these changes, there's no way I would be able to rip off the prose version directly. So for the comic's Prologue, I'm currently fully summarizing its script so that I will know what happens from beginning to end, and I'll be doing the same with Issues 1, 2, 3 and so on. It amazes me how much different the comic version is, and I know you all will love it. I think the hardest part for me to make my comics has always been the penciling process, but I'm seeing improvement each time I draw, so that's nothing but time and experience can perfect.
Even though I'm going to be in school soon, nothing's going to stop me from continuing with POC 2 and POC D-X. And speaking of POC 2, I'm hoping to have its next chapter finished by Christmas. It's a "rejuvenation" chapter to recover from the Voltage Kraken battle. I also want to take this chance to answer some unanswered questions that were brought up, such as Silver's relation to Shadow and Rouge's presence in the future. Gizmo also has a few things to reveal about his past that I'm sure you all will be intrigued by.
