Prologue: Inception of the Protectors

Synopsis: Another scheme has been launched by the ingenious Dr. Eggman: to take control of the God of Destruction, Chaos. This time around, the doctor has discovered a way to fully control Chaos, leaving no chance of a possible betrayal like his last attempt. Before the doctor can execute his master scheme, he is intercepted by Shadow the Hedgehog, who must use the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds to revert Perfect Chaos back to its default form.


Chapter 1: The Seventh Night ~Amethyst's Chosen~

Synopsis: Chapter 1 begins with Alter entering a famous bar in Night Babylon to take a break from his night stroll. After finishing a drink, Alter departs back to the dark streets, then to Central City, where he is summoned to the realm of the Master Emerald and is tasked to protect the amethyst purple Chaos Emerald. As Alter returns to reality, he is confronted by Shadow, who takes notice of the Emerald in Alter's hand. Before Alter can question him, the two are interrupted by Dr. Eggman, who has come to steal Alter's Emerald.


Chapter 2: The Search

Synopsis: In the previous chapter, Shadow was contacted by Rouge, who was getting pursued by Metal Sonic. Alter tags along with Shadow, and the two begin to investigate and search for Rouge and Omega. Near the end of this chapter, Eggman challenges Omega with defeating his latest manifestation, the Cyborg Ifrit.


Chapter 3: Blazing Limits

Synopsis: During this chapter, Omega goes head-to-head with the Cyborg Ifrit while Metal Sonic attacks Alter, Shadow, and Rouge. As the climax of the battle draws near, Alter becomes consumed by darkness and decides to take on the Cyborg Ifrit himself, against Omega's wishes.


Chapter 4: Seeking Empathy

Synopsis: In Chapter 4, Alter returns to his home, dubbed "Alter's Palace". In a few moments, some very unexpected visitors arrive at his front door - the bar clerk and a lavender cat called Blaze. Will Alter finally warm up to the clerk? Or shun him away to preserve his cold demeanor?


Chapter 5: A Dark Revelation

Synopsis: Blaze, along with Amy, Cream and Cheese, assist Alter with locating Dr. Eggman's base, Gimme Shelter, so that Alter can receive the answers as to why he was overcomed by darkness on the night he faced the Cyborg Ifrit. Before he can get to Eggman, Alter must first provide entertainment to the Transcendent Plasma, Syber the Hedgehog.


Chapter 6: The Necklace of Darkness

Synopsis: After leaving Gimme Shelter, Alter is called over by Phillip, who noticed the wolf was rather down in the dumps. Once Phillip cheers up Alter, he gives him a pouch that was entrusted to him by a light blue female echidna who was looking for Alter earlier. The contents of the pouch was a very ancient necklace. After a few more days, Alter was once again summoned to the realm of the Master Emerald to partake in Tikal's conference.


Chapter 7: F33L 7H3 D4RKN355

Synopsis: Alter and Mephiles were sent to Holy Summit, along with the Chaos Emeralds, Alter having three, and Mephiles having the remaining four. Due to a parting gift that Mephiles left inside Alter, he is currently unable to channel his cryokinesis to use his ice-based attacks. When Silver appears to aid Alter, the two embark on a journey inside Alter's conscious to expel Mephiles' bug which would in turn return Alter's power.


Chapter 8: Dawn of Lunaros

Synopsis: Alter squares off with Mephiles, successfully defeating him. As Alter prepares to use the seven Chaos Emeralds to strip Mephiles of his will again, he is attacked by Chaos. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Mephiles quickly uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to merge with Chaos, becoming Lunaros, the darker equivalent of Solaris. Unfortunately, the Protectors are trapped in a barricade and are unable to track down the Chaos Emeralds to defeat Lunaros. They must now rely on an outside force to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds and bring them to them before the distorted dimension shatters.


Epilogue: The Solitary Protector

Synopsis: Laila safely delivers the Chaos Emeralds to Alter, who teams up with Shadow and Silver in the final face-off with Lunaros. Will they prevail against the treacherous moon god?


Bonus Chapter: Reparation Complete

Synopsis: Thought it was over? This is only the beginning. It is revealed that Alter is an agent that was sent from the future to the present to retrieve Iblis, the raw power of Solaris whom Eggman had just diffused from its conscious mind, Mephiles. Before Alter can complete his task, he is encountered by Laila, who knew that if Alter could bond with a human and experience the simple and peaceful life of the past, it may conflict with how he sees the world in the future. What does she have planned for Alter? What will become of Iblis?
